우리나라 전기전자산업의 수출경쟁력 분석과 시사점

초록
본 논문의 목적은 전기전자산업의 수출경쟁력을 관련된 지수를 통해 분석하고, 이를 근거로 수출경쟁력의 제고방안 및 시사점을 제공하는 것이다. 수출경쟁력 분석을 위해 사용된 지수는 무역특화지수, 현시비교우위지수, 국가별 비교우위지수이다. 실증분석 결과 전기전자산업의 품목들은 수출특화 상태를 보이고 있으며, 세계시장에 대한 수출경쟁력은 가전을 제외하고는 대부분 상승하거나 현상을 유지하고 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 또한 주요국(중국, 미국, 일본) 별로 비교우위나 비교열위 수준을 보면 국가에 따라 상이한 결과가 나타나고 있다. 예컨대 정보통신은 일본을 제외한 모든 국가에서 비교우위, 반도체는 미국을 제외한 모든 국가에서 비교우위, 가전은 중국을 제외한 모든 국가에서 비교열위, 컴퓨터는 일본을 제외한 모든 국가에서 비교열위구조를 보여주고 있다. 이는 해당국가의 내수 동향이나 소비패턴, 시장의 포화상태 등에 영향을 받고 있지만, 기본적으로 가격경쟁력과 품질경쟁력에 좌우되고 있음을 보여주는 것이라 할 수 있다. 따라서 반도체 및 정보통신을 중심으로 비교우위구조를 더욱 고착화하면서 가전과 컴퓨터의 비교열위구조를 개선해 나갈 필요가 있다. 이를 위해 가격경쟁력 및 품질경쟁력 제고방안을 마련함과 동시에 기술혁신 및 비용절감, 인적자본 확충 및 전문인력 배양, 외부경제효과의 극대화 등 다양한 종합 대책이 필요하다고 할 수 있다.
Abstract
This study examines and evaluates changes in the export competitiveness and comparative advantage structure of Korean electric & electronic industry. The purpose of the study is to find policy suggestions by empirically analyzing the export competitiveness of Korean electric & electronic industry. Our research is mainly based on different measures of TSI, RCA, CAC. To calculate the TSI, RCA, CAC indices of Korean electric & electronic industry for the period of 2005-2007, the WTA(world trade atlas) trade matrix is mainly used. Based on this empirical study, Korean electric & electronic industry has comparative advantage or export specialization. Specially, Korea has comparative advantage in the semiconductor, information & telecommunication industry. And Korea has comparative disadvantage in the home electronic industry. However, the variation of these measures show that Korean electric & electronic industry have gradually export competitiveness in world market. Therefore diversification of Korea's export specialization should be further facilitated in order to overcome any unfavorable change in trade environment in Korean electric and electronic industry.
