한국 가구 제조기업의 국제화에 관한 연구: 베트남 진출 기업들을 중심으로

초록
‘의식주(衣食住)’의 문제는 인간이 살아가는데 필수적인 요건이며 가구는 '주(住)'를 완성시키는 충분의 요건이라고 할 수 있다. 한국의 경제발전에 따라 아파트를 중심으로 하는 주거형태가 일반화되고 나아가 삶의 질을 제고시키는 최우선의 기준으로 인식되면서 가구산업은 이에 동반하여 큰 발전을 이루게 되었다. 그러나 가구산업에서의 필수적 원자재인 목재의 절대적인 부족과 지속적인 임금 상승은 포화된 가구시장을 더욱 치열한 경쟁국면에 이르게 하였다. 이러한 시장환경의 변화는 가구기업들의 존폐를 우려할 상황에까지 이르게 하였으며 드디어는 이에 대한 자구책 내지 대안으로서 가구기업들은 해외시장으로의 진출을 모색케 하였다. 본 연구는 부존자원의 열악함에도 불구하고 원목의 수입이나 가공 등에 머무르지 아니하고 현지에 진출하여 원활하고 안정적인 원자재의 조달과 함께 제조와 마케팅활동까지도 수행하고 있는 베트남에 진출한 가구기업들의 국제화 활동(globalization activities)에 관련하여 살펴보기 위하여 시도되었다. 이를 위하여 먼저는 한국의 가구산업 전반에 걸친 현황을 살펴본 후 이미 현지에 진출한 가구기업들의 진출 배경과 현황 및 문제점들을 살펴보고 마지막으로는 지속가능한 경영활동의 수행을 위한 대안들을 모색하여 보려고 한다.
Abstract
This paper is designed and studied to find the causes or process of Korean furniture manufacturers in Vietnam. In spite of important function for the amenity of human living and its contribution to the domestic market or industry, the market share of Korean furniture has declined and shrunk which caused by saturation of domestic market and fast increasing imports of foreign country including Chinese furniture. The results and alternatives of this study are as follow. Firstly, Vietnam is one of the alternatives for the Korean furniture industry which does not have abundant raw materials like woods, plywood, etc. Secondly, the entrepreneurship of furniture manufacturer and assistances or supports of Korean government are needed for the industry of furniture. For examples, they are FTA between Korea & Vietnam, and the Agencieqs of governmental organization including Korean embassy or KOTRA and EXIM bank of Korea, etc. Finally, the various and closely networking with relative associations or conferences of furniture manufacturers in Vietnam like KOFAVN is also needed.
