리서치기반의 디자인 교육의 효과성 검증

교수자로서 학습에 진행할 프로젝트를 결정하고 학생들에게 해결해야할 디자인 문제를 제시하여 쉽게 해결할 수 있도록 방법을 제안하고자 한다. 이러한 방법으로 디자인수업에 디자인 리서치 교육을 실행한 후 학습자들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 디자인 리서치 교육에 대한 만족도와 가설을 검증하였다. 설문대상은 커뮤니케이션디자인 수강생 총25명으로 진행되었다. 여대라는 특성으로 남학생의 의견은 없었으나 전공과 비전공으로 구분할 수 있었으며 학년은 2학년부터 4학년까지 자유롭게 수강하였다. 설문조사는 통계분석과 서술형 문답의 분류분석으로 분석한 결과 리서치기반의 디자인교육은 창의적 아이디어전개과정에 유익하며, 디자인문제도출과 적절한 해결방안을 얻는데 유익하고, 완성도 높은 디자인결과물을 얻는데 유익하다는 가설을 입증하였다. 이중 가장 높은 비율로 나타난 디자인 문제도출과 해결방안은 리서치디자인교육의 중요성을 보여준다. 그러나 프로젝트 진행에 있어 팀워크에 대한 부분은 공동수행에 있어 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 향후 연구과제로는 남학생 참여를 통한 비교분석, 전공별 디자인리서치 교육의 가능성 등 이번연구의 한계점을 연구하는 것이다. 본 연구는 학습자들이 서로 협력하는 과정에서 디자인 문제에 대한 해결책을 풀어가는 과정을 효과적으로 보여준다. 디자인 리서치교육에 대한 방법론을 시각디자인 수업에 실행하여 그 효과성을 검증했다는 것에 본연구의 의의가 있겠다.
Abstract
As a teacher, I would like to suggest a few ways to determine projects which might be applied to learning and present design problems which students should solve, in order for those students to solve them in an easy manner. A questionnaire survey was done for learners after the design research education had been done in the design class under these methods, and then the satisfaction and hypotheses for the design research education were verified. Total 25 learners in the communication design were included for the questionnaire survey. Although there was no opinion from male students due to the characteristics for the women's university, the classification could be done into those majoring students and non-majoring students. In addition, those students from second graders to fourth graders could freely take part in the class. As a result of statistical analyses and analytical results from the classified analyses with the descriptive questions and answers in the questionnaire survey, hypotheses were proven to be true in that the design education based on research is useful for the development of creative ideas, derivation of design issues and acquisition for the appropriate solutions, and acquisition of design outcomes in high perfection. The derivation of design issues and solutions with the highest ratio among them represents the importance of research design education. However, the teamwork in carrying out projects appears to have no influence on the joint implementation. The task for the future research is to study limitations in this research, including the comparative analysis through the participation of both male and female students, possibility of design research education in each major, etc. This study effectively demonstrates the course to solve solutions for design issues in the cooperative course with each other among learners. This study can be said to be significant in implementing the methodology for design research education in the visual design class and verifying its effectiveness.
