중국 위안화 평가절상이 한국 수출·입에 미치는 영향에 관한 분석

본 연구는 글로벌 불균형(global imbalance)을 해소할 방안으로 지목되고 있는 위안화 평가절상이 한국의 수출과 수입에 미치는 영향에 대해서 실증적 분석하였다. 1999년부터 2011년까지의 한국과 한국의 주요 50대 교역대상국을 분석대상국으로 하였고 중력모형을 근거로 거리변수, 경제규모 변수, 위안화 평가절상 변수, 금융위기 변수 등을 사용하여 임의효과모형과 고정효과모형으로 추정하였다. 본 연구의 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 임의효과모형과 고정효과모형으로 추정한 결과 중국의 위안화 평가절상으로 인한 한국의 주요 교역국과의 수출은 평균적으로 10.1%∼16.4% 감소한 것으로 나타났다. 이것은 중국의 수출 경쟁력 하락과 경기 둔화에 따른 한국의 대중국 원자재와 부품 및 중간재 수출의 하락 때문이다. 둘째, 임의효과모형과 고정효과모형으로 추정한 결과 위안화 평가절상으로 인해 한국은 주요 교역대상국들로부터의 수입이 평균적으로 14.2∼15.1% 감소한 것으로 나타났다. 이것은 한국의 중국산 재화의 가격 상승과 대중국 수출용 원자재 및 자본재 수입 위축효과 때문이다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to estimate the correlation between Yuan revaluation which is the solution to remove the global imbalance and an export and import of Korea with random effect estimation and fixed effect estimation. As a result of the empirical analysis, Korea can get export decrease effect of 10.1%∼16.4% with the main 50th trading partner on average during Yuan revaluation. In addition, the import of Korea has decreased 14.2%∼15.1% with the 50th trading partner on average during the same period. The reason for this is that Korea export specifically a raw materials, parts and components has diminished because of losing the competitiveness of exports and the economic slowdown in China. Korea import has dwindled on accounts of increasing the price of China's exports and decreasing import of a raw materials and capital goods that are for export to China.
