본 연구는 경쟁이 치열한 미용기기제품 시장에서의 신속한 디자인대응이 중요한 홈 스킨케어 제품 인 “냉온 열 피부마사지기” 제품개발에 3D프린터를 활용한 제품개발의 사례이다. 3D Printing의 원리와 현황 등의 전반적인 이해를 위해서 다양한 문헌연구를 고찰하였고 이로 인한 사회적, 산업부분의 파급효과 등을 알아보았다. 그리고 가정용 피부미용기의 현황과 국내에서 판매되는 냉온 피부마사지기와 피부미용기의 사용자에 대한 조사를 진행하였으며, 미용기기 디자인 시 고려해야할 사항 등을 통한 디자인요소와 키워드를 추출하여 디자인작업에 적용하였다. 디자인개발 과정 중 스케치 모델링과 3D렌더링 과정에서 제작된 3D모델링 데이터를 3D프린터를 활용하여 스터디 모크업(study mock-up)과 워킹 모크업(working mock-up)을 개발하였다. 이를 통해서 일반적인 제품디자인프로세스를 적용한 것 보다 빠른 의사결정을 할 수 있었고, 기구설계 부분에서도 디자인개발과 거의 동시에 진행하여 제품개발의 완료시점을 앞당길 수 있었다. 이러한 점은 다른 디자인 개발에도 응용 및 적용한다면 제조업체들의 요구에 만족할 수 있는 디자인을 위해 보다 신속하게 진행하여 제품출시 등에 있어서 많은 경쟁력 향상의 효과를 가져 올 것으로 기대되며, 디자인과 계속적인 발전을 하는 3D Printing기술과의 융합을 통해 보다 새로운 미용기기 시장의 창출과 경쟁력 있는 제품디자인분야로 발전시켜 나아갈 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
This study researched a product development case utilizing a 3D printer in development of ‘Hot and Cold Skin Care Device’ product which is a home skin care product which is a home skin-care product requiring prompt design responses in the very competitive beauty care device product. For overall understanding the principles and current state of 3D printing, this study examines various literatures and also searched its social and industrial ripple effect. This study conducted the survey on users of Hot and Cold Skin massage machine and skin care device sold in Korea as well as the current state of home skin care device, and also applied design elements and key words derived through the consideration for design of beauty care device to design works. It developed the study mock-up and working mock-up, by utilizing a 3D printer, based on 3D modeling data made in the processes of sketch modeling and 3D rendering among the design development stages. Through this process, this author was able to carry out more prompt decision-making than application of general product design process, and move up the time for completion of design development in the part of device design because it was possible to carry out the product design almost concurrently with the design development. It is expected that application of the results to the development of other designs will result in the improvement of competitiveness in product launch through more prompt progress for designs satisfying the requirements of manufacturers. In addition, it will be developed as a new and meaningful product design area through the convergence designs with 3D printing technologies.
