뉴미디어 정보 디자인의 일러스트레이션 활용 연구

The development of side effects generated by industrialization and such industrialization itself ledto the emergence of information society. With the development of new technology, a new mediaappeared, which is considered as a new media showing the characteristics of information society. Asrich information increases rapidly, the expression of new media increases in various ways. The casesof information design which use illustration as the way to deliver numerous information may beconsidered belonging to it. The cases in which new media is used as the attempts of manyillustrators to various genres. The purpose of this study is to identify the difference between existinginformation design and the one which uses illustration with the cases in which illustration is usedfor new media information design. As the study methodology, this study proposed a common typethrough visual expression elements and expressive characteristics and used figurative elements andcharacteristics. As the results, the new media information design with illustration used color, shapeand direction as the visual expression elements. In addition, it showed the characteristics ofcomprehensiveness and digitalization as well as enhanced effects of emotionality and romancethrough the expressive method of illustration. This study also discovered the characteristic ofattention catching with attraction through enhanced empathy of receptors to illustration and thefigurative elements of story delivery. In addition, it has music and visual image elements as themethod to enhance positive emotion for new media information design which uses such illustration. Different from existing information design, the recent information design using illustration and newmedia changed to allow the receivers to easily accept the emotional stimuli through the expressivemethod of illustration. Through this, this study found that the interactions of various genres maylead to generation of new genre.
