소비자생활협동조합의 실천공동체 학습 : 포토보이스를 이용한 두레생협의 필리핀 공정무역 생산지 해외연수 사례연구

초록
본 연구는 한국의 소비자생활협동조합(이하 생협)의 필리핀 공정무역 생산지 해외연수를 실천공동체 관점에서 분석한 것이다. 한국 생협들은 조합원들에게 다양한 학습 기회를 제공해 왔으며, 필리핀 해외연수도 그 일환으로 진행되고 있다. 해외연수의 필요성과 효과에 대해서 암묵적으로 인정하고 있으나, 연수 참여자들이 어떤 과정을 거쳐 학습을 하는지에 대해서 이론적으로설명한 경우는 거의 없다. 이를 설명하기 위해서 두레생협의 필리핀 공정무역생산지 연수 참여자들의 학습경험을 포토보이스를 통해서 분석했다. 필리핀 해외연수과정에서 참여자들은 새로운환경을 경험하고, 다양한 방식으로 공정무역 제품의 생산과 수출에 관여하는 사람들과 대화를하면서 새롭게 의미를 생성해 나간다. 동시에 한국에서 참여자 자신과 조직이 해왔던 실천을 숙고하며 평가한다. 이와 더불어 자신과 공정무역 생산자와의 관계를 재설정하면서 자신의 정체성이 변화한다. 분석결과, 공정무역 생산지 연수는 기획 의도 이상의 학습효과를 갖는다는 것을 알수 있었다.
Abstract
This study analyzed the case of a Korean consumer cooperative’s the Philippines study visit to Fair Trade producers in terms of communities of practice. Korea‘s consumer cooperatives have provided various learning opportunities for their members including the Philippines study visits. Although they acknowledge implicitly necessity and effect of field study visit, it is rare to account for how the participants of study visit have learned. This study analyzed the learning experiences of those who take part in the visit to Fair Trade producers in the Philippines having a partnership with Dure consumer cooperative. We have deployed the photovoice. During the Philippines study visit, the participants conceive new meanings through new experiences and dialogue. At the same time, they reflect and evaluate their practices and organizational practices in Korea. Along with this, cooperative members’ identities have been changed by re-establishing relations with Fair Trade producers. In conclusion, the learning outcome of overseas study visit is bigger than the expectation.
