베이비부머 세대의 여가활동이 우울증과 성공적 노화에 미치는 효과

이 연구의 주요 목적은 베이비부머 세대를 중심으로 이들의 여가활동이 우울증과 성공적 노화에어떠한 영향을 미칠 것인지를 규명하고 그 시사점을 도출하는 데 있다. 아울러 점차적으로 베이비부머 세대의 은퇴가 증대됨에 따라 이들을 위한 사회적 대응방안 시스템 구축의 필요성을 강조하는 데있다. 근래에 오면서 한국의 베이비부머 세대는 2010년대부터 정년퇴직 연령대에 도래되었고, 저출산과 고령화 현상에 직접적인 대응을 해야 할 매우 중대한 시점이 되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과같다. 첫째, 베이비부머 세대의 육체적 여가활동과 정신적 여가활동은 이들의 우울증 극복에 상당한영향을 미치고 있는 것으로 나타났으나, 사회적 여가활동은 무의미한 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 베이비부머 세대의 육체적 여가활동과 정신적 여가활동은 이들의 노후생활에서 성공적 노화에 영향을 미치고 있는 것으로 나타났으나, 사회적 여가활동은 육제적 여가활동과 정신적 여가활동에 비하여 베이비부머 세대의 성공적 노화에 영향을 미치지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 한편, 이 연구의 한계점으로는베이비부머 세대의 성별 및 연령별 특성을 고려하지 못하고, 또한 소득 대비 지출정도에 따라 이들이지각하게 되는 우울의 정도 및 성공적 노화 인식이 다를 수 있으므로 연구의 결과를 일반화하는데제한점이 있다. 따라서 향후 연구에서는 도시지역 및 농촌지역별 특성을 고려하여 성별, 소득대비 여가활동 지출정도에 따른 개인별 특성을 반영하여 후속연구가 수행되길 기대한다.
Abstract
The main purpose of this study is to identify the effects of leisure activities on depression and successful aging in the baby boomer generation and to draw implications. In addition, as the retirement of the baby boomer generation gradually increases, the emphasis is placed on the necessity of establishing a social response system for them. In recent years, the generation of baby boomers in Korea has reached the age of retirement beginning in the 2010s, and it is a very important time to respond directly to the low birth rate and aging phenomenon. The results of this study are as follows. First, the physical and psychological leisure activities of the baby boomer generation were found to have a significant effect on their depression, but the social leisure activities were relatively insignificant. Second, it was found that the physical and mental leisure activities of the baby boomer generation influenced successful aging in their old age. However, social leisure activities were found to have no effect on the successful aging of the baby boomer generation compared to physical and mental leisure activities. On the other hand, as a limitation of this study, the characteristics of gender and age of the baby boomer generation cannot be considered. In addition, there are limitations in generalizing the results of the study because the degree of depression perceived by them and the perception of successful aging may differ depending on the degree of expenditure to income. Therefore, it is expected that future studies will take into account the characteristics of both urban and rural areas, and reflect individual characteristics according to gender and income expenditure.
