초록
[연구목적]본 연구의 목적은 혁신의 중요성이 증대되는 사회적 추세에 따라 관리회계적 관점에서 혁신활동을 자극할 수 있는 요인을 규명하는데 있다. 구체적으로는 유기적 프로세스로 대변되는 비공식적 통제와 권능부여적 통제시스템으로 대변되는 공식적 통제를 함께 고려하여 두 지 유형의 혁신과의 관계를 살펴보고, 더 나아가 혁신이 조직성과에 미치는 영향을 검증한다. [연구방법]국내 제조기업 대상의 설문조사를 통해 획득한 자료를 토대로 PLS 구조방정식 모형 기법을 적용하여 실증분석을 수행하였다. [연구결과]유기적 프로세스의 이용은 권능부여적 속성의 공식적 통제시스템을 강조하는 한편, 유기적 프로세스는 활용적·탐색적 혁신에 모두 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 권능부여적 통제시스템은 활용적 혁신에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치고, 더 나아가 활용적 혁신은 재무적 성과 증진에, 탐색적 혁신은 비재무적 성과 증진에 영향을 미침을 알 수 있다. [연구의 시사점] 본 연구는 4차 산업혁명과 비대면 시대에서 더욱 화두가 되는 혁신에 초점을 맞추어 통제시스템과 혁신, 그리고 성과간의 관계를 종합적으로 검증함으로써 관련 연구와 실무에 모두 시사점을 제공할 수 있으리라 기대된다.
Abstract
[Purpose]This study aims to investigate what stimulates innovative activities in the era of innovation. Specifically, this study examines the influence of organic process and enabling control systems on innovation by considering both informal and formal controls. Additionally, we investigate the effect of innovation on organizational performance. [Methodology]The survey of sample of Korean manufacturing firms was conducted. The hypotheses test was implemented by PLS structural equation modelling technique. [Findings]Firstly, the result shows that the significant positive influence of organic process on enabling control systems. Secondly, organic process has positive effect on both exploitative and exploratory innovation, while enabling control systems affect only exploitative innovation in a positive way. Finally, the exploitative innovation seems to improve financial performance while the exploratory innovation significantly affects non-financial performance. [Implications]This study contributes to management accounting literature as well as practices by showing what encourages both exploitative and exploratory innovation and what can be improved by innovative activities.
