초록
The purpose of this study is to develop the plans of waterfront city that makes waterfront spaces serve as thecenters in cities. It aims to suggest planning directions of waterfront land use derived of water-centered waterfront design whichallow water spaces to be the center of cities by providing facilities and places for the public on the waterfronts, and examinedwaterfronts' urban and architectural potential as the center of cities by referring to the waterfront at the Shiwha Lake. Waterfrontland, waterfront community, publicness of waterfront, access to waterfront, and water availability were suggested at the aspectof waterfront living and waterfront environmental network. This paper reviews an assessment of how waterfront city adaptsaffect and exploits an existing urban pattern and concludes with the design strategy for water space-centered waterfront citysuch as slow city in front of the mudflats and reed marsh with nature center and single house zone, waterway park city alongthe main canal with apartment housing zone, healthy marine city on the marina with water-dependent public facilities andmarine MXD zone, active boating city along the tidal and canals with townhouse zone, and community city with waterfrontcommercial zone.
