지역에 관한 관심이 지각된 관광 영향과 관광 발전 참여에 미치는 영향 연구: 여수시 지역주민을 중심으로

The purpose of this study was to examine the interrelationships among community concern, per ceived tourism impacts, and participation in tourism development among local residents residing in areas where various interest groups exist. To achieve the research objectives, a survey was conducted over two months, from June 2022 to February 2023, targeting residents of Yeosu City, known for its famous tourist destinations and national industrial complexes. The empirical research results are as follows: First, it was found that local residents’ community concern had a significant effect on the perceived positive and negative impacts of tourism. In particular, it was found that higher community concern led to stronger responses to the perceived negative impacts of tourism. Second, it was found that local residents’ perceived tourism impacts affected their participation in tourism development. Particularly, the perceived positive impacts of tourism had a stronger effect on local residents’ participation in tourism development. The results of this study revealed that the general interests of the community affect tourism impacts and local resident participation. Accordingly, practical implications were suggested for participating local residents in sustain able tourism development.
