와송추출물(Orostachys japonicus A. Berger)의 In Vivo 모델에서의 표피재생 효과

This study aimed to investigate the epidermal regeneration effects of extracts from Orostachys japonicus A. Berger (OJW). While the antioxidant and antibacterial properties of OJW have been widely studied, research using animal models has been limited. In this study, wounds were induced in a Sprague-Dawley (SD) rat model to assess epidermal regeneration. The results indicated that OJW extracts showed a higher effectiveness in promoting epidermal regeneration compared to the control group and the positive control group, Madecassol. To evaluate collagen production, a quantitative assessment was conducted after Masson’s trichrome staining, revealing an increase in collagen synthesis with OJW extracts. Further- more, a quantitative evaluation following immunohistochemical staining for cytokeratin, which specifically binds to epithelial cells, in the Madecassol-treated and OJW-treated groups, the regenerated epidermis showed increased cytokeratin protein expression compared to the control, confirming the effectiveness of OJW in promoting epidermal regeneration. Therefore, this study in vivo wound model, Orostachys japonicus A. Berger extract demonstrated effects on epidermal regeneration and collagen production, suggesting its potential as a functional ingredient for cosmetics and wound healing applications.
