디자인 전시박람회 관람 경험의 유용성 및 만족도가 디자인 세부전공 선택에 미치는 영향

This study aims to analyze the impact of attending design exhibitions on undergraduate students' choices of design sub-majors. Design exhibitions serve as important platforms for encountering the latest design trends and technologies, offering practical learning opportunities for design majors and supporting career exploration through networking with professionals. Based on a theoretical framework addressing the perceived usefulness and satisfaction derived from exhibition experiences, this study conducted a survey targeting second-semester first-year students in the Department of Digital Content Design at O University in Gyeonggi Province. The analysis revealed significant differences in the perceived usefulness and satisfaction of design exhibition experiences depending on the students' preferred design sub-majors. Notably, students interested in web design reported higher levels of usefulness and satisfaction. Furthermore, the usability for appreciation of design exhibitions was found to have a significant impact on students' confidence in their sub-major selection. However, this study has limitations in generalizability, as it was conducted with students from a single university and department. Future research should expand the study population to include students from diverse regions, academic years, and majors, and consider supplementing the methodology with qualitative approaches to enhance the validity and depth of the findings.
