중소기업의 정보화 성곡요인에 관한 근거이론적 연구
A Grounded Theory Analysis of Information Systems Success in Small and Medium Enterprises

대기업과 중소기업은 환경과 자원의 차이에도 불구하고 그 동안은 대기업을 대상으로 수행한 연구 결과들이 중소기업에 직접적으로 적용되는 경우가 많았으며 특히 최근의 정보화로 인한 비즈니스의 변화에 관한 연구에서도 대기업의 맥락에서 개발된 연구들이 중소기업에도 그대로 원용이 되고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 중소기업을 대상으로 실시된 정보전략계획 컨설팅의 최종 보고서들의 내용을 분석하여 중소기업 정보화 특유의 성공요인들을 찾기 위한 탐색적 연구 과정을 수행하였다. 1109개의 정보전략계획 컨설팅 보고서들의 내용 분석(content analysis)은 4가지 단계로 나누어 수행되었는데 1단계는 자료분석준비단계로서 텍스트들을 정형화하고 통합하는 전처리(preprocessing)를 하였다. 2단계에서는 문장분석단위를 도출하는 개념화 과정을 수행하였다. 이어서 3단계에서는 문장분석매트릭스를 개발하여 문장을 체계적으로 분석할 수 있는 프레임을 만들었다. 4단계에서는 엑셀의 프로그래밍 기능을 활용하여 단어결합매트릭스를 개발하였고 결합빈도 분석에 의거하여 범주들을 도출하고 중소기업의 정보화의 성공적인 수행과 관련된 문장과 개념들을 도출하였다. 결과적으로 중소기업 정보화와 관련이 높은 성공요인들의 중요도에 따라서 정보화 마인드, 업무프로세스, 정보화전략, 관리시스템, 정보화인력, 정보화 조직의 순서로 성공요인들이 나타났으며 이러한 여섯 가지의 범주 별로 중요한 속성들과 요구사항들이 도출되었다. 또한 내용 분석의 결과 중소기업 정보화 성공의 선행 요인들로서는 인력, 정보화계획, 인프라, 마인드, 조직 등 11개의 항목의 출현빈도가 다른 개념들에 비해서 상당히 높이 나타나 중요한 요소들임을 알 수 있었다.
Abstract
Information systems research was mostly conducted in the context of large size enterprises, and similar frameworks are applied to small and medium enterprises with modifications. However, in many cases, the context of small and medium enterprises(SME) requires different perspectives and approaches in developing and using information systems. In this regards, this study explores and investigates antecedents of IS success in the context of SMEs from the ground up. Information strategy planning documents of 1109 SMEs were collected and contents were analyzed from the perspective of success factors particular to SME context. Data analysis was conducted in four phases. The first phase was the preprocess, preparing and integrating the text from 1109 consulting reports, followed by phase 2, in which large amount of text were processed, drawing up basic analysis units by conceptualizing and counting number of words and relations. In phase 3, a tool based on Excel was developed to systematically break sentences into meaningful analysis units, producing an analysis matrix. Finally, in phase 4, sentences and analysis units were counted and categorized based on the frequency of simultaneous appearance. As a result, six categories that require immediate attention on SMEs’ side were emerged: information orientation, work process, information strategy, management system, human resources, information organization, in sequence of importance
