주거공간 디자인을 위한 다이어그램 특징과 유용성 연구

초록
주거공간은 하루 중 1/3이상 머무는 곳으로 인간의 기본적인 활동이 영위되는 매우 중요한 공간이다. 그만큼 집은 거주자에게 자신이 입는 옷처럼 딱 맞는 공간이어야 한다. 그러나 우리의 주거환경은 천편일률적인 모습으로 오히려 사람이 공간에 적응하며 살아가고 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 주거공간의 개선방안을 디자인 과정의 제고를 통해 살펴보았다. 특히 행동패턴을 구조화하는 도구로서 다이어그램을 주목하여, 현대 주거공간에 적용된 다이어그램의 특징과 유용성을 살펴보았다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다.첫째, 다이어그램은 ‘시스템’으로 작용하여 디자인 전개과정에 전반적으로 영향을 미치며, 거주자에 대한 분석 및 요구사항의 수용이 밀도있게 이루어지도록 지원하는 역할을 한다. 둘째, 다이어그램은 스스로 공간의 기능을 조직하는 역할을 수행함과 동시에 형태생성의 역할도 한다. 다만, 건축가의 성향에 따라 형태생성자로서 역할의 범위는 다르다. 셋째, 정량화의 도구로서 다이어그램은 디자인 생성물의 객관적 근거를 확보하고, 합리적 추론과정을 통해 논리적 설득력을 가지게 한다.현대주거공간이 갖춰야할 다양성과 적합성을 부여할 수 있는 방법적 대안으로서 다이어그램은 충분한 가능성을 지니며, 본 연구는 주거에서의 다이어그램 방법 적용에 대한 기초연구로서 의의를 지닌다.
Abstract
The residential space is a very important space in which people stay for longer than one third of a day and the basic activities of people are carried out. As such, a house for its residents should be a space which matches ourselves very well like the clothes we wear. But our residing environments are all in the same shape and people try to adjust themselves to their houses rather than making their houses designed as they want them. In this research the researcher made an observation on the areas of improvement in the residential space through the enhancement of design process. Especially I observed the characteristics and usability of diagram in the comtemporary residential space and its meaningfulness paying attention to the diagram as a tool to structure the activity pattern. The results of the research are as follows:Firstly, the diagram affected the overall unfolding process of design functioning as a 'system' and plays a role in supporting the analysis of residents and the accommodation of requirements to be made thoroughly and with density. Secondly, the diagram performs the role of organizing the function of the space itself and at the same time it plays the role of creating a pattern. However, depending on the propensity of the architect, the scope of the role as the creator of pattern is different. Thirdly the, diagram as a tool for quantification secures an objective ground for the creative output of design while having a logical persuasion power through a reasonable inference process. The diagram has a sufficient possibility to be an alternative for a methodology to which we can grant diversity and appropriateness to be equipped as a residential space, and this research has its significance as a piece of basic research on the application of diagram in the field of residence.(Keyword) Residential Design, Activity Pattern, Diagram, Characteristics, Usability
