경영환경과 경쟁전략이 물류성과에 미치는 영향

본 연구는 물류관리시스템의 성과를 향상시킬 수 있는 시스템을 설계운용하기 위해 경영환경과 경쟁전략 간의 적합성이 물류성과에 미치는 영향을 분석하여 물류성과를 극대화하기 위한 정책 수립 시에 도움을 주기 위한 것이 주된 연구목적이다.실증분석결과, 차별화와 집중화전략을 추구하는 경우에는 경영환경과 경쟁전략의 적합성이 확보되어야 높은 물류성과 달성이 가능할 것이라는 적합성 이론이 적용된다는 점을 알 수 있었다. 반면에 원가우위전략에 관한 가설을 기각되었다. 전체적으로 볼 때, 가설에서의 예측은 원가우위전략을 제외하고는 성과가 낮은 기업보다는 성과가 높은 기업에서 보다 강하게 나타난다는 사실을 알 수 있었다. 성과 수준별로 표본을 구분하여 가설을 검정한 결과, 차별화와 집중화전략을 추구하는 기업이 높은 물류성과를 달성하기 위해서는 경영환경과 경쟁전략의 적합성이 중요한 반면, 원가우위전략의 경우에는 경영환경과 경쟁전략의 적합성이 중요한 요소가 아님을 알 수 있었다. 이는 결국 경영환경과 경쟁전략 간의 적합성은 물류전략의 유형에 따라 성과에 관련된 함의가 다를 수 있으며 또한 전략유형에 따라 적합성의 중요성도 상이할 수 있다는 점을 시사해 준다.
Abstract
This paper attempts to study the relationships between environment and strategy, and the impacts of fit between two constructs on firm’s logistics performance. To test the hypothesis which are proposed with respect to the impact of environment on the strategy and of fit between two constructs on firm’s logistics performance, an empirical research was conducted on 202 firms. For the purpose of the empirical research, this paper used the questionnaire survey data.On the basis of the results in this empirical research, the findings of this paper can be summarized as follows. Firms with high fit were performing significantly better than firms with low fit. An important finding of this paper is that fit between environment and strategy is not universally applicable for all types of strategy. High performers with differentiation (focus) strategy achieved external fit, while high performers with cost leadership strategy pursued internal fit. The results of this paper help to enhance the firm’s logistics performance to become aligned and focused on implementing the long－term competitive strategy.
