국내 전자기업의 경영성과와 R&D 활동과의 관계에 관한 연구

Many preceding studies have proved that R&D investment has a very positive effect on the corporate management. It has been said that the company's investment in R&D improves its’ management performance and productivity by promoting the development and introduction of new technologies, processes, products, services, etc. This study has compared the corporate management and R&D activities in terms of efficiency. And this study defined a hypothesis that is different from those used in other preceding studies, in terms of the efficiency and relevance between the company's management and R&D activities. In addition, this study has confirmed through an efficiency evaluation of DEA model (a non-parametric analysis model) that the above-mentioned hypothesis so defined is actually true of the domestic electronic companies. It has also verified, through a multiple regression analysis of such outcome, that R&D-related variables have no significant and positive effect on sales, being one of the variables representing the corporate management performance. In conclusion, it is suggested by this study that, in order to maximize its ultimate management efficiency and performance, the company should increase its investment and expenditure in R&D for the purpose of developing new technologies, processes, products and services that are superior and competitive, even accepting a little lower efficiency of R&D activities.
