IT산업에 속한 중소기업의 재무 특성에 관한 연구

본 연구는 비상장 중소기업 6656개를 대상으로 경공업과 중화학공업 및 IT산업의 재무적 특성을 분석하고, IT산업에 속한 중소기업의 특징을 검증한 것이다.중소기업의 재무특성은 65개 재무비율을 사용하여 측정하였으며, 이들 재무비율을 대상으로 산업간 차이를 분석한 결과 IT산업 중소기업이 타 산업에 비해 유의한 차이를 보인 비율은 44개 비율이다. 이중 15개 비율에서는 IT산업 중소기업이 타 산업보다 높은 값을 보이며, 29개 비율에서는 낮은 것으로 나타나고 있다.IT산업의 특성을 요인별로 분석하기 위해 65개 재무비율을 대상으로 요인분석을 실시한 결과 9개 요인, 즉 수익성요인, 유형자산 투자의 적절성요인, 안전성요인, 장기자산의 활동성요인, 유동자산의 활동성요인, 성장성요인, 유동성요인, 이자상환요인, 노동생산성요인으로 분류되었다. 각 요인의 점수를 측정하여 IT산업 중소기업의 요인별 특징을 분석한 결과 유동성요인, 유형자산 투자의 적절성요인, 성장성요인에서는 IT산업 중소기업이 타 산업보다 1% 수준에서 유의하게 높은 것으로 나타나고 있으며, 수익성요인, 노동생산성요인, 안전성요인에서는 타 산업에 비해 낮은 것으로 나타나고 있다. 특히 매출의 부진으로 인한 IT산업 중소기업의 낮은 수익성과 생산성요인은 IT산업의 문제점으로 나타나고 있다.
Abstract
This study investigated the financial characteristics of IT small business and compared these findings with the those of light and heavy industries. The sample firms used in this study are 6,656 small firms unlisted by KSE and KOSDAQ. The 65 financial ratios were measured from 1999 to 2004. The ratio differences between IT related firms and other industries were 44 ratios of 65 total ratios. IT firms found to be low at 15 ratios, liquidity, growth, R&D and appropriateness of tangible assets. IT firms found to be low at 29 ratios, profitability, activity, productivity, leverage. The factor analysis categorized the 65 financial ratios to 9 groups. And factor score of each firms was measured. The characteristics of IT firms were analyzed and compared them to the characteristics of light industry firms and heavy industry firms by 9 factors. Small IT firms were found to be eligible for growth factor, liquidity factor and leverage factor at 5% significant level. But main factors such as profitability factor and productivity factor of small IT firms were found to be significantly low at 5% level.
