초록
Restlessly, changing human society and skills development have altered spatial paradigm. Modern space has been expanding its functions and scope in order to provide people to lead more convenient lives. This paper draws a picture of the future of the space that is evolving into a ubiquitous environment, and suggests interactive sign system of general hospital. General hospital's sign system, which has to immediately provide various information in a compressed space that has high intensity of information, has to maximize efficiency on areas of information production and expression; this is because user's recognition of information and understanding take extremely important roles in hospital, compared to other spaces. In this vein, the paper analyzes problems of sign system in preexisting general hospitals, and deduces possibility of improvements in the sign system through observations and experiments of the users. Moreover, the paper applied RFID(Radio Frequency Identification)--one of the skills that can be used to realize active interaction in ubiquitous environment--and developed prototype of interactive sign system. The paper, through evaluating prototype usability, was able to confirm that sign system's interactive interface and isometric expression of spatial information enabled hospital visitors to recognize information much faster. The paper suggests interactive sign system design for the coming ubiquitous era; and it puts significance in realizing more efficient design in space crowded with information like general hospital, and in examining possibility of developing interactive sign system.
