조직수명주기, 조직기억, 조직학습 간의 관련성에 관한 연구

In spite of the quantitative increase shown in existing studies on organizational life cycle, we can hardly find studies linking this concept with organizational memory or organizational learning. The aim of this paper is to address this vacuum. This study is largely divided into two parts. The first part reviews literature in organizational memory and organizational learning, and through examining the literature, aims to gain a fuller understanding of the theoretic background behind the discussion on the relationship among organizational life cycle, organizational memory, and organizational learning. The second part suggests several specific propositions concerning the relationship among them. To begin with, I divide organizational lie cycle into four stages, that is, start-up, expansion, maturity, and decline stage. But the last stage is excluded in the following discussion, because the impact of decline on organizational structure and systems is far less predictable, and the onset of organization decline may actually occur at any stage of organization life cycle. And then I try to find out the suitable profiles of the retention facilities of organizational memory and the levels of organizational learning in each stage. The paper ends with suggestions for future research directions.
