M 대학 유아교육과 황 교수의 유아교육과 교수로서의 역할 행위 분석

This study was designed to look into role behavior as a professor in the early childhood education department by means of conducting an in-depth interview with Prof. Whang at 'M' University. As a result of conducting 8 times of interviews with Prof. Whang at 'M' University and analyzing total 162 pages of  interview records, five categories of topics emerged: becoming a professor who resembles a kindergarten teacher,  the duet between theory and practice, upgrading lecture quality through research activities, instilling pride as a early childhood educator, a partnership with professors with students. The topic of becoming a  professor who resembles a kindergarten teacher contributed to bringing about a positive influence on  smooth communication  between professors and students. The topic of duet between theory and practice illuminated a closely interconnected relationship, where lack of  theories  damages  adaptive capabilities  in the field and,  on the  other hand, too much emphasis on theories leads to lack of practical knowledge. There is a disparity in role between a professor who just conveys traditional theories as usual and a professor who introduces results of recent studies. Early childhood education department professors helped her students to pride themselves on taking up the major and professors and students are destined to have a  partnership through research and lecture.
