초록
The need for green growth in the Asian and Pacific area increases drastically. At the same time, the growth rate of Christianity in the same area is also surprisingly increasing. In this situation, the Christian viewpoint on nature needs more attention. Does it promote the environmentally-friendly attitude toward nature? There have been two issues concerning this. It is that Christianity fosters the anti-environmental sentiment for its humanistic arrogance toward nature and its apocalyptic worldview. We will oppose those opinions by demonstrating that Christianity in reality freed humankind from fear of nature and that its apocalyptic doctrine can be interpreted symbolically; and we will conclude that one needs to appeal to the Christian anthropocentric consciousness to improve their environmental sentiment.
