초록
본 연구는 2006-2010년 동안의 중국의 긴축(확대)금융정책이 한·중주식시장에 영향을 주었는지에 대해 사건연구 및 BFL 검정을 통하여 정책 발표일 전후의 주가행태 및 주식수익률 변동성에 미치는 영향을 조사하였으며 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 중국주식시장의 경우 과열된 경기를 진정시키기 위한 중국의 긴축금융정책이 중국의 과열된 증시를 정상화시키기에는 부족한 것으로 보이며, 경기를 활성화시키기 위한 확대금융정책은 정책의 실효성이 있는 것으로 보인다. 둘째, 중국의 긴축금융정책이 발표되기 3일전부터 한국 주식시장은 2일 동안 주가가 하락하다가 상승하는 모습을 보였고, 중국의 확대금융정책이 발표되기 2일전부터 한국 주식시장은 주가가 상승하여 한국주식시장이 중국의 금융정책에 영향을 받는 것으로 보인다. 셋째, 금융정책이 시장전체에 대한 영향이외에 추가적인 영향을 분석한 결과 중국주식시장과 한국주식시장 모두 긴축(확대)금융정책의 추가적 실효성이 존재한다고 볼 수 있다. 넷째, BFL 검정결과 비교구간별로 증시정책 전후의 변동성이 유의한 차이를 보이지 않는 것으로 나타났으며 이는 경기 및 주식시장 안정을 위한 긴축금융정책과 경기부양 및 주식시장 활성화를 위한 확대금융정책이 주가의 변동성에는 영향을 주지 않고 주가에만 영향을 주었음을 의미한다. 결론적으로 2006-2010년 동안 중국금융정책이 한·중 주식시장에 대해 실효성이 있는 것으로 보이고 특히 시장효율성 측면에서 한국주식시장이 중국주식시장보다 중국의 금융정책 뉴스에 신속히 반응한 것으로 나타났으며, 한중주식시장 모두 주식시장의 변동성에는 달리 영향을 주지 않은 것으로 나타났다.
Abstract
I explore how stock returns and volatility have been impacted by China's tight-money policy and loose-money policy during the 2006-2010 period, using return analysis, event study, and BFL tests. First, I examine effectiveness of loose-money policy for a depressed market and tight-money policy for an overheated market with respect to different industries as well as the whole market. In case of China, only loose-money policy seems effective against stock market. But both tight-money policy and loose-money policy are quite effective in Korea stock market. Second, I test whether securities market plans have any further impact with respect to industries in addition to the impact on the entire market. Both China's and Korea's stock market show additional response to monetary policy. Third, the results of BFL tests show that volatility does not change around the announcement dates of tight-money policy and loose-money policy. It appears that securities market plans have no impact on volatility. Only stock returns respond to the policy. Overall results shows that Korea stock market is more efficient market than China stock market.
