교육과정과 수업실천을 연결해주는 핵심자료인 교과서는 교육 현장에서 큰 영향력을 가지고 있으며, 교과서의 내용은 물론 외적 체제나 편집, 그리고 품질 또한 중요하다고 할 수 있다. 특히 미술교과서는 타 교과서와는 달리 시각 중심 교과서라는 특수성 때문에 교과서의 디자인적인 역할을 더 크게 담당하고 있다고 볼 수 있다. 그러나 우리나라는 교과서에 대한 외적 체제의 연구가 미흡하였고, 선행연구들 또한 미술 교과서 편집디자인의 레이아웃의 개선 방향을 구체적으로 제시하고 있지 않다. 이에 본 연구에서는 교과서 연구에서 가장 소외되고 있는 미술교과서 표지 디자인의 문제점을 분석하고 효율적인 표지디자인 방향을 제시하고자 한다. 또한 중등학교 학생을 대상으로 설문 조사 분석하여 신선한 감각과 흥미, 창의성 함양을 위한 중등 교과서 표지 디자인을 연구하고자 한다. 마지막으로 본 연구가 중학교 미술 교과서의 표지 디자인에 대해서 사용자인 학생들에게 신선한 감각과 흥미, 그리고 창의성을 함께 이끌어 낼 수 있는 미술교과서 표지 디자인으로 발전하는데 도움이 되기를 바란다.
Abstract
A textbook that connects a curriculum with its class can greatly influence education. The editing, layout, and external quality, as well as, the content of the book are undoubtedly important. As opposed to most textbooks, an art book is visually-oriented and this makes its design more unique and important. However, the external designs of art textbooks have not been developed within the sphere of design. Therefore, designers do not have the proper information or tips on how to improve their layout and design of the books. In this study, the cover design of art books will be discussed, a largely neglected area, and a more elaborate and effective design will be proposed. Preference, responsiveness and aesthetics of the art books' designs were rated by Gu-Il Middle School and Hwi-Kyoung Girls' High School students. The degree of use was also tested and then rated by the same students. All results will be analyzed precisely. Finally, this study is helpful for students with new perspectives and an interest in art, who do not have the opportunity to choose an art book. This new information will be helpful for creating new cover designs for art books, which could most inspire students' creativity.
