스마트폰 아이콘 디자인의 메타포에 관한 연구

A Study on the Metaphor of Smart phone Icon Design

초록

Along with the latest increase of smart phones' various functions and services, the users are under the difficulties of using them ironically. Even the specific manuals with all the devices burden more to the users who are not used to the digital devices. The importance of icon design is very high because the icons are not only symbols but also the functions themselves in smart phone's system. This study selected 6 common icons from all the smart phones which are now on the market and studied the tendency of the icons' forms which have the high recognition. As the result, the users prefer the simple forms with a whole shape than the complicated ones with parts and the users have the prejudice based on the earlier experiences of the other digital devices and their icons so it's hard to change those images. The future icon design should be based on the users' prejudice on the digital devices' icons; the metaphor sympathizes with users and the icons can enforce the functional recognition.
