초록
본 사례에서는 대형선망어업의 현황과 관련 이슈를 검토하고 금성수산의 발전 및 위기극복과정을 분석하였다. 이를 통해 금성수산의 성공요인과 이러한 성공요인을 뒷받침한 김진호 회장의 기업가정신을 소개하였다. 대형선망어업은 근해어업 중 가장 규모가 크고 자본집약도가 높은 어업으로 어장자원검소의 어려움 속에 유가인상과 인력난으로 어려움을 겪고 있다. 금성수산은 어려운 현실 속에서도 과감한 투자로 지속적인 성장을 이루고 있는 연근해어업의 대표주자이다. 금성수산은 다른 업체들의 노후어선 대체에 소극적인 상황에서도 항상 적극적으로 신규 선박 도입을 추진해왔으며 어탐장비 등 첨단시설 투자를 다른 기업들에 비해 항상 2∼3년 先투자를 하고 있다. 금성수산의 적극적인 투자를 가능하게 하는 것은 김진호 회장의 수산업 사랑과 현장중심의 경영, 그리고 선대의 가업을 계속 이어가려는 강한 집념이다. 이러한 사례를 통해 좀 더 많은 이들이 수산업과 수산경영에 대한 이해를 조금이나 넓힐 수 있는 계기가 되었으면 한다.
Abstract
This case reviewed the current status and related issues of large scale netting vessel and analyzed growth process of Keum-Sung and overcoming process of FX crisis. we can introduced Keum-Sung; success factors and the entrepreneurial spirit of President Kim Jin Ho. Large scale netting vessel was the largest and highest per capital and was having difficulty due to fishery resources decrease and oil prices escalation. In spite of these difficulties, Keum-sung had been made the sustainable growth through the active investment. It was made by the entrepreneurial spirit of President Kim Jin Ho. Its bases were composed by Fishery Love, Management focused on Field and Strong Commitment to continue. We hope this case will help to understand the reality and management of fishery industry.
