적정기술이 디자인에 융합된 사례 연구

There are 7 billion people in the world today. 1 billion people in the global village are still destitute poor and their universal human rights are even lost due to poverty and hunger. To solve this problem, there has recently been active discussions of the antipoverty and sustainable development in developing countries with use of appropriate technology. In this respect, this study looked for values from the case studies on the products made through the fusion of appropriate technology and design and provided the underprivileged with much better values of life through sustainable design. As a result, it is found that ‘Best Design’ which could be made by the fusion of appropriate technology and design plays a valuable role in solving social problems and realizing social innovations with sustainable design which improves our quality of life. Based on this, this study aims to present application methods of appropriate technology and design. The powerful influence of international development cooperation should be evolved into a proactive role. Social innovation design through the convergence of various sectors should be oriented. Diffusion of appropriate technology is to broaden participation. Structured education system is needed. This study is expected to provide the basic data for further researches on the appropriate technology and help activate the fusion of appropriate technology and design.
