일상의 미적 경험을 통한 디자인의 미학

This study is born out of the absence of the aesthetic study on design despite the fact that the power and ubiquity of design in everyday lives cannot be underestimated. Analysis of the Aesthetics of Design is done through the formalism and expression theory by the analyses in comparison with fine arts. Design, in a sense of the formalism, is defined as ‘a category including intentional or functional objet d’art as a candidate for aesthetic appreciation’. It can be an ontology of design oriented for ordinary characterized by multiplicity and duplicity as opposed to unique originality in a sense of the expression theory. Usability of design is derived through ‘activity, pleasure senses, indeterminacy’ which are concepts of Yuriko Saito, an aesthetician of everyday life. It is found the interaction of the distal sense and proximal sense can be expanded aesthetically through a frameless design. The aesthetics of ‘familiarity and place’ by Arto Haapala is a temporal and spatial experience duration through activities which can be standards for the design aesthetics that awaken the human identity and providing structural immanent comfort and peace. Aesthetic experiences in everyday lives through design is fulfilling in different aesthetic areas of lives, complimenting defects in traditional aesthetics based on fine art and expanding the areas of the aesthetic.
