The purpose of this study is to present the improved design and direction of the manhole coverimage improvement of public facilities by regional projects in environmental point of view. Research method is based on previous studies examined the theoretical background through thenational and international literature. And empirical research data were collected through a surveyof the manhole cover into the Internet and analyzed the design into focus. Especially compared tothe manhole cover design practices of advanced countries and analyzes of what is fundamentalimprovements. Visual image of a manhole cover surface is effective by focusing the image of thetraditional culture represented by leveraging location characteristics and traditional culturalelements of the area. The purpose of this study was to explore the role and future direction of thevisual basic functions and public facilities of the manhole cover was established to contribute tothe urban identity. Manhole cover is considered to be made up to put the typical features of theregion in harmony with the surrounding environment and the role of landmark environmentalimprovements proposed design development samples. I hope to improve the foundation of amanhole cover that creates a unique brand and identity of the area. Based on Image enhancementhope this means that expectations publicity as a cultural and citizenship advancement of eacharea.
