라울 뒤피의 텍스타일 디자인 색채 특성 연구

The fabrics in a variety of colors were used for producing textiles in accordance with science, technology and color theory in the 20th century and the diverse kinds of textile designs were created in consideration of social, cultural, economic and temporal influence. Raoul Dufy in those days added variety to design by creatively converging fine art and decorative art and applied the artistic features and color changes of impressionism, fauvism, cubism and expressionism to the textile design. For the characteristics of styles in the textile design by Raoul Dufy, the systematic shape of art nouveau and geometric pattern of art deco were expressed in harmony. In case of materials, he also chose a variety of themes including printing design using Orpheus based on Greek Myth and woodcut technique, landscape of Normandy, a daily life in a city, exotic animal and jungle and geometric pattern. Furthermore, Dufy applied realistic description and rich colors of impressionism in his early textile designs and adopted the strong colors reflecting light and unlimited materials from fauvism. He developed transparent and various colors and primary colors of expressionism and geometric expression and colors of cubism by dividing a screen. For the characteristics of colors, Dufy applied a variety of colors and shades including red, blue, green, yellow, brown, purple and achromatic color and developed the progressive design using diverse characteristics from fine art and decorative art. Accordingly, this paper aimed to help the textile designers in these days to produce a variety of creative expression by investigating the features and colors of textile designs by Raoul Dufy and recognizing the values of his works as the textile designs.
