Discourse of Social Responsibility and Ethical Management in the Sport Industry

The purpose of the study was to provide discourse on social responsibility and ethical management in the sport industry. Specifically, the study attempted to propose a desired direction of social responsibility and ethical management as a promoting approach for the fundamental aim of a corporation management system which is generating profit. The findings of the study are as follows. First, it might be a valuable approach for generating long-term profits because social and ethical responsibilities have been socially issued in the environmental change of corporation management. The direction of ethical management for promoting the essential values and institutional supports for the sport industry was proposed as a possible management system. Second, the conditions for corporation ethics, culture and social relationship in the sport industry have been discussed. Finally, the discourse on the enforcement of social responsibility, the relationship between corporation ethics and financial performance, corporations’ efforts for ethical management, and the structural issues has been addressed.
