미생물 형상을 활용한 기초디자인 콘셉트조형 실험에 관한 연구 -산업디자인전공 수업을 중심으로-

The purpose of this study is to incorporate skills to develop design form as well as design creativity based on emotional preferences in industrial design concepts. To develop such skills, micro-organism based design form fundamentals were used to develop a viable design form. The scope of this study was uniqueness, mysticism as a prerequisite for further investigation and study into the forms of these organisms and how they function from a design perspective as they are applied to an industrial design or even space design context within actualised projects. Fundamental design class industrial design majors were given the task of experimenting with concept and form, with a survey of the validity of micro-organisms as a subject for learning the basics in design. Methodology was visual research through the internet with theory from theses and papers related to the subject. The validity of this paper was researched from other prior papers as well as other publications. Examples were found from the internet with class work from 5 samples with a total of 17 samplings of the fundamental design class students. Based on this survey, 81% of students agreed that the form of an organism unseen by the naked eye was exceptionally intriguing and worthy of further study. In conclusion, it has been established that fundamental design concepts based on micro-organisms can provide a unique, compelling, new thinking, diversity of form-making for design form classes is beneficial.
