기업 운전자본관리정책이 기업가치와 수익성에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

본 연구는 운전자본관리정책측면에서 기업의 운전자본 수준이 기업가치와 수익성에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 분석은 2000년부터 2016년까지 유가증권시장과 코스닥시장에 상장된 기업을 대상으로 패널회귀분석을 실시하였다. 실증분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 기업의 운전자본은 기업가치 및 수익성과 양(+)의 관계를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 기업가치와 수익성을 증가시키기 위해서는 보수적인 운전자본관리정책이 필요하다는 것을 실증적으로 확인하였다. 둘째, 글로벌 금융위기 이후 기업들은 여전히 보수적인 운전자본관리정책을 유지하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 보수적인 운전자본관리정책이 기업수익성 측면에서는 부정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 코스닥시장에서 더 부정적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 글로벌 금융위기 이후 기업가치 측면에서는 유가증권시장에 긍정적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 운전자본을 증가시켜 수익성 하락을 감소하고라도 보수적으로 높은 수준의 운전자본을 확보하여 위험을 감소시켜 기업가치를 높이는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 보수적인 운전자본정책은 순운전자본 수준이 높은 집단 보다 낮은 기업에서 보다 효과적으로 나타났다.
Abstract
We investigate the effect of the level of working capital on firm value and profitability in terms of working capital investment policy. Panel regression analysis was conducted for companies listed on the Korea stock market. The results of the analysis are as follows. First, we find that the firm 's working capital has positive relationship with the firm value and profitability. In other words, we have confirmed that conservative working capital investment policies are necessary to increase firm value and profitability. Second, firms still maintain conservative working capital policies after the financial crisis. However, after the financial crisis, firm profitability was negatively affected. and the KOSDAQ market had a more negative impact than the KOSPI market. Third, firm value is still positive except for the KOSDAQ market. In other words, even though the profitability decline is reduced by increasing the working capital, conservatively high working capital is secured to reduce the risk and increase the firm value. Fourth, conservative working capital policies are more effective than low net working capital firms.
