DEA모형을 활용한 국내 해운항공기업의 정태적․동태적 효율성 분석

Trade plays a crucial role in Korean economy, and logistics is a major factor in trade. In this study, we analyze the static and dynamic efficiency of shipping and airline companies among Korean logistics companies. We use the DEA and Window models to analyze the efficiency of the top 50 domestic companies based on sales for five years from 2013 to 2017. Our results are as follows: 1) In terms of technical and scale efficiency, the number of companies that exist in the efficient frontier is 6, 6, 5, 2, and 6 during 2013-2017, respectively; 2) In terms of pure technical efficiency, the number of companies that exist in the efficient frontier is 10, 11, 10, 9, and 16 during 2013-2017, respectively; 3) The pure technical efficiency value of all companies is over 0.75, which is significantly high; 4) Six companies demonstrate an increase in efficiency over the period; 5) Twenty-eight companies, most of which recorded the highest sales, demonstrate a decrease in efficiency; and 6) In accordance with the dynamic efficiency analysis, it can be seen that more than 50% Korean shipping and airline companies have experienced declining efficiency over the past five years. The results of this study can be used as basic data in the planning stage to develop business management strategies for stakeholders in domestic shipping and airline industries, as well as to establish companies and industries in the field of logistics.
