주요 업종별 산업용 도시가스의 수요함수 추정

This study uses the monthly time series data from March 2013 to June 2018 to estimate the demand function of the industrial city gas which has recently led to the reduction of city gas consumption. Estimation by the cointegration regression model (DOLS) shows that the income elasticity and the price elasticity of the manufacturing industry are 0.690 and -0.228, respectively. The income elasticity of energy consumption industry excluding petrochemical industry is 0.264, the price elasticity is -0.071, and the income elasticity of consumer goods industry (textile apparel, food and tobacco) estimated by the ARDL model is 0.769. In the case of petrochemicals, the price elasticity is -1.221, which is 5 to 20 times larger than other industries. This indicates that the main reason for the fluctuation in demand for industrial city gas is attributed to the lower price competitiveness of city gas compared to petroleum such as bunker C oil. In addition, the temperature effect (1.713) in the seasonal industry is much larger than that of the entire manufacturing industry (1.099). In order to achieve the goal of reducing GHG emissions in the future, we intend to maintain the price competitiveness of city gas as a clean fuel in the petrochemical industry. In the case of the seasonal sector, it is necessary to take measures to differentiate the industry rates according to the degree of seasonality, in terms of equity with the civil service(household and commercial uses) rates.
