2차 준 이상 수요체계(QUAIDS)를 이용한한국 육류상품시장의 대체 관계 분석

This study analyzes the demand system for beef, pork, chicken, sausage･ham and bacon consumed by households using household trend surveys from 2005 to 2015. In side of demand, in terms of supply and demand for restaurants due to COVID-19, such as the suspension of meat processing plants due to concerns over infectious diseases are observed. As a result, it is necessary to check whether alternative relationships between meat products will occur for price changes caused by unstable supply and demand of meat. To this end, the demand elasticity of Korean meat consumers is estimated using the complete demand system, QUAIDS. Estimates of beef, pork, chicken, sausage･ham and bacon show that income(expenditure) elasticity is 0.97, 0.67, 0.77, and 0.79, indicating that all meat has the nature of necessity good such as beef, pork, chicken, chicken, and sausage･ham/bacon. The uncompensated self-price elasticity was estimated to be -0.65, -0.73, -0.33, and -0.79. As a result of estimating the elasticity of cross-price, sausage･ham/bacon, the relationship between pork and chicken is established, so processed meat can replace the raw meat market. Empirical data are provided in the establishment of demand policies for meat shocks through the meat demand relationship estimated in this study.
