트렌드 키워드를 반영한 플로럴 패턴 디자인의 콘셉트 특성 분석 - 뮤럴 디자인을 중심으로

본 연구의 목적은 사회, 문화적 트렌드에 영향을 받아 디자인으로 구현된 플로럴 뮤럴 디자인에 대한 카테고리 체계를 구축하고 주요 트렌드 키워드에 따른 디자인 특징에 대해 분석하는데에 있다. 연구 방법과 범위는 2010년부터 2022년 사이 국내외 매거진, 뉴스에서 선정된 디자인 트렌드 키워드를 바탕으로, 약 150점의 뮤럴 패턴 형식으로 제작된 플로럴 패턴 자료를 여섯 가지 카테고리로 나누어 분석하였다. 연구의 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 네오네이쳐 트렌드는 플로럴 디자인에서 사진 촬영 기법 등을 통해 모티프의 속성을 그대로 구현하여 자연의 생동감과 자연에 대한 심도있는 환경 의식 등을 드러낼 수 있다. 둘째, 레트로 트렌드는 플로럴 디자인에서 다채로운 원색의 모티프를 밀도 있게 배치하고 여백과 대비시켜 일반 공간과 레트로 무드 공간 사이의 분할을 원활히 한다. 셋째, 뉴트로 트렌드는 비비드한 컬러의 보색 대비, 모티프와 빈티지 텍스쳐의 조화 등을 통해 레트로 스타일에 보다 현대적인 감각을 더한 디자인이 강조된다. 넷째, 뉴클래식 트렌드는 플로럴 뮤럴 디자인에서 모티프와 기하학 도형의 중첩 및 반복, 골드 색상 포인트 등을 통해 기존 클래식 스타일에 모던함을 더하여 세련미로 재해석한다. 다섯째, 사이키델릭 스타일의 디자인은 네온 색상들이 기하학적 선, 도형에 적용되어 모티프의 왜곡, 변형, 착시 등의 시각적 효과가 돋보이며 스토리텔링적인 성격을 가지고 공공예술 및 마케팅에 활용된다. 여섯째, 오리엔탈리즘 트렌드는 동양의 전통 색채와 식물 문양을 활용한 표현 기법의 활용을 중심으로 다양한 무드가 더해진 동양의 정서가 돋보인다. 이에 소비자들의 지속적인 수요와 취향에 따라 플로럴 디자인은 트렌드를 반영하여 응용되거나 재해석되는 과정을 통해 앞으로 등장할 새로운 경향의 플로럴 디자인을 기대할 수 있다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of floral pattern designs implemented as a design under the influence of social and cultural trends. Among them, it is to provide related knowledge by establishing a category system for floral mural designs and analyzing the characteristics of the design. As for the research scope and method, based on design trend keywords selected from domestic and foreign magazines and news between 2010 and 2022, about 150 pieces of floral pattern data produced in the form of a mural pattern were analyzed by dividing them into six categories. The analysis results of the study are as follows. First, the Neo-nature trend can reveal the liveliness of nature and deepening environmental awareness of nature by realizing the attributes of the motif as it is through photography techniques in floral design. Second, in the retro trend, colorful primary color motifs are densely placed in floral design and contrasted with white space to smooth the division between general space and retro mood space. Third, in the New-tro trend, a design that adds a more modern sense to the retro style is emphasized through the contrast of complementary colors of vivid colors and the harmony of motifs and vintage textures. Fourth, the New-classic trend can reinterpret the unique heavy feeling with sophistication by adding modernity to the existing classic style through the overlapping and repetition of motifs and geometric shapes, gold color points, etc. in floral mural design. Fifth, psychedelic style design is applied to geometric lines and shapes with neon colors, and visual effects such as distortion, transformation, and optical illusion of motif stand out, and it is used for public art and marketing with a storytelling character. Sixth, the orientalism trend stands out with the oriental sentiments added with various moods centered on the use of expression techniques using traditional oriental colors and plant patterns. Therefore, according to the continuous demand of consumers, floral design can be applied or reinterpreted according to the trend. This allows for the emergence of a new trend of floral design in the future.
