ESG는 사회복지 현장의 주요한 흐름이 될 것인가?: 조직몰입과의 관계를 중심으로

The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of the level of Environment, Society, and Governance (ESG) management activities on social workers’ perceived organizational commitment within social welfare organizations. Recently, as ESG management has become a major social trend, there is a growing interest in its application within the field of social welfare. This study focused on social workers working in three types of welfare organizations. Statistical analyses were conducted using online survey data collected from 308 social workers. The results of the study showed that the level of ESG management activities had a statistically significant effect on the organizational commitment of social workers. In particular, the sub-factors of ESG management activities—environment (E), society (S), and governance (G)—were significantly associated with organizational commitment. The organizational commitment of social workers is an important element of the value-centered practice of not-for-profit welfare organizations. Therefore, the integration of effective ESG management practices is essential for progressive organizational operations and enhanced service quality. In light of the challenges posed by COVID-19, The social welfare field is now required to adapt to evolving social demands. This exploratory study on ESG management in social welfare offers useful implications for future research, particularly in understanding its role in fostering organizational commitment.
