아르데코 조형미를 반영한 헤어 오브제 제작과 생성형 AI 디자인 연구

본 연구는 1920년대 아르데코 양식의 핵심 조형미인 장식성, 율동성, 기능성을 기반으로 헤어 오브제 디자인에 적용하고, 생성형 AI를 활용하여 작품의 예술성과 현실감을 확장하는 시각화 가능성을 탐색하는 데 목적이 있다. 아르데코 양식은 1920년대 플래퍼 스타일과 깊은 연관성을 가지며, 기하학적 질서, 율동감, 장식적 화려함을 특징으로 한다. 특히 여성들은 1차 세계대전 이후 사회 참여도가 높아지면서 짧은 헤어스타일과 활동성을 중심으로 새로운 스타일을 나타냈고, 헤어스타일은 개성을 시각화하는 장식적 요소로 활용되었다. 이를 위해 아르데코의 시대적 배경과 문양의 장식성･율동성･기능성의 특징을 문헌 분석하고, 미학적 특성을 반영한 헤어 오브제를 제작하였다. 제작된 오브제는 헤어 전문가의 검증을 거쳐 형태･재료･구조적 조형성이 반영되도록 계획되었으며, 나아가 생성형 AI를 활용하여 제작된 헤어 오브제 작품에 아르데코의 문양과 색상을 융합함으로써 질감･광원･색채 조화를 정밀하게 강화하여 디지털 환경에서의 예술적 확장 가능성을 확인하였다. 연구 결과, 아르데코의 기하학적 리듬의 단순미･기능미･율동미가 오브제 디자인에 상호 조형적으로 연결되어, 리드미컬한 율동미와 시각적 리듬감을 부여하는 반짝임과 움직임이 디자인 요소로 나타났다. 특히 오브제의 비즈 반사광과 큐빅은 아르데코의 금속적 질감과 기하학적 균형을 시각적으로 재현하였으며, 생성형 AI는 소재 질감, 광원, 색채 조화를 정교하게 재현하여 오브제의 예술성과 재현성을 강화하는 도구로 기능하였다. 이처럼 아르데코의 구조적 질서와 AI의 생성 알고리즘이 결합 된 하이브리드 예술 오브제 제작이 가능하며, 이는 미용디자인 분야에서 전통적 예술양식과 AI 기술의 융합이 새로운 조형 창작 가능성을 제시하며, 향후 AI 기반 미용 창작 연구의 확장할 수 있음을 보여준다.
Abstract
This study aims to explore the visualization potential of enhancing the artistic quality and realism of hair objet designs by applying the core formative aesthetics of Art Deco— decorativeness, rhythm, and functionality—rooted in the 1920s. Art Deco is closely associated with the Flapper style and is characterized by geometric order, rhythmic dynamism, and ornamental splendor. During this period, women’s social participation increased after World War I, leading to the emergence of short hairstyles and activity-centered fashion, in which hair functioned as a decorative medium for expressing individuality. To address this, the study conducted a literature review on the historical context of Art Deco and its formative characteristics, and produced hair objets reflecting the aesthetic qualities of the Flapper style. The objets were developed through expert validation to ensure appropriate form, material selection, and structural composition. Furthermore, by integrating Art Deco motifs and color schemes into the created objets through generative AI, the study enhanced texture, lighting, and chromatic harmony, confirming the artworks’ expanded visual potential in digital environments. The results reveal that Art Deco’s geometric rhythm and the Flapper style’s simplicity, functional beauty, and movement-oriented expressiveness were visually and structurally incorporated into the objet designs, producing shimmering effects and rhythmic motion as key design elements. In particular, the reflective properties of beads and cubic embellishments effectively reproduced the metallic texture and geometric balance characteristic of Art Deco, while generative AI served as a tool that refined materiality, lighting, and color coherence to elevate artistic quality and representational accuracy. These findings demonstrate the feasibility of hybrid artistic objet creation that merges the structural order of Art Deco with AI-generated algorithms, and they suggest expanded creative possibilities for future AI-based research within the beauty design field.
