A Study on the Foreign Investments Strategies of the Medium-and-Small Businesses- Focused on the Busan Area -

The most foreign investments from Busan Area is done by labor intensive companies for productive efficiencies. These kinds of investments were showed increasing trends as seen table 3-1, and will be increasing by the government's political assistance on the company's foreign investment. And it is advised that company has effective strategy and efficiency management in the local country through case study in South-East Areas. When companies goes on the foreign markets, the successful factors are considered as follows: what and how to competitive advantages compared to the host companies for long times, studies on the host country's investment environments such as regulations, system, social customs, and selection of the partners on the host country. Medium and small sized businesses generally tend to invest in the foreign markets with big sized partners or co-partners for covering their weak managerial resources and reducing early risks of the market development, information gathering, low-level bargaining power on the host country. Therefore, most medium and small sized companies that invest in the foreign markets are recommended to utilize related facilities which guide and advice on the financing, tax, insurance, and technology introduction, and information gathering. Finally, this research has some restrictions by studied mostly on medium-and-small businesses in the Busan area; only depended on the local government's statistics till 1997 year and not included from 1997 year afterwards. Anyway, it is recommended that if we make some company-facilities-institute's co-program on the gathering information and utilizing them each other, then it will greatly useful for "Cross Culture Management" on the medium and small sized companies that want to invest abroad.
