한국 관광산업의 전자상거래 활성화 방안: 정책과제 도출

A Study on Korean Tourism Industry and its Strategic Actions toward E-Commerce: Developing Policy Agenda

The rapid distribution of internet has created a revolutionary change in tourism industry. Especially, the development of e-commerce has placed enormous impacts on the marketing and management of travel business. Many experts have a positive view of the impacts of the e-commerce, suggesting that these e-commerce businesses will provide a new market and process for the tourism industry. On the other hand, others see significant barriers to the tourism industry taking advantage of these e-commerce based opportunities. In this, the study reviewed the concepts, applications and issues related to the e-commerce. Current status was examined based on the data from developed e-commerce cases, and discussions were made on the findings from Korean tourism industry's perspective. And, finally, the study suggested some supportive policy agenga. Those are: ⑴ institutionalizing of cyber tourism business; ⑵ utilizing of venture business system; ⑶ introducing of quality approval system; ⑷ establishing of autonomous cooperative organization; and ⑸ establishing of integrated marketing support and networking system.
