Relationship between Organizational Culture Types and Job Satisfaction of Nurses in General Hospitals

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between organizational culture types and job satisfaction of nurses in general hospitals and to identify the factors which had influenced in the organizational culture and job satisfaction. Data were collected from July 11 to 30. 2003 through structured questionnaires taken by 287 nurses working in 3 hospitals with more than 300 beds in Busan. Data were analyzed using Pearson Correlation Coefficient, T-test. ANOVA, Scheffe tese and stepwise multiple regression. The result were as follows : 1. The culture types of hospital organization was conservative culture. 2. The average score of nurses' job satisfaction was moderate level. 3. There were significant correlation between job satisfaction and cultural types, especially, affiliative culture showed highest correlation with job satisfaction. 4. The hospital organizational culture explained 51.0% of job satisfaction.
