초록
This study is to identify growth-ceiling factors of venture business in Korea. Many studies have focused on the success factor of high-tech startups. However, there are many unsuccessful or stagnant venture companies in real. This study attempts to derive characteristics of stagnant ventures. For the research 340 sample firms were collected from the survey which was conducted by the Small & Medium Business Administration and Korea Venture Research Institute. Empirical finding are summarized as follows; Stagnant ventures are at lower level in managerial efforts, product/market development ability, resource support ability, and risk/uncertainty solving ability than highly-growing ventures. From the discriminant analysis, it was found that entrepreneurs' effort for initial production and parts supply is the most discriminant variable discriminating stagnant ventures from highly-growing ventures. From the Logistic regression analysis, entrepreneurs' effort for initial technology development, production/part supply, selling/promotion, and funding appeared to be statistically significant.
