초록
The study investigated the relationship between socioeconomic characteristics and perceived travel constraints with respect to the leisure travel experience. The study of the relationship between socioeconomic variations and perceived travel constraints in regard to travel is limited within the context of tourism. Accordingly, this research implemented an empirical approach to examine the underlying dimensions of travel constraints and socioeconomic characteristics. A series of multivariate analysis of variance was employed to identify the underlying travel constraint dimensions and to examine the differences in the underlying dimensions of perceived travel constraints and respondent's socioeconomic characteristics. The research found that the relationships between three socioeconomic characteristics, age, gender, annual expenditure on recreational activity, and occupation and nine underlying travel constraint dimensions, were statistically significant. The implications of the study suggested that the tour-operators and planners should set proper marketing themes having the minimization of perceived travel constraints and optimization of tourists' leisure travel experiences.
