정보디자인 유형과 수준에 관한 연구

Although information design principles had originated from graphic design fields in 1970s, information design have taken one of the most important positions in multimedia design fields as the present since Richard Saul Wurman started his researches on information design and its practical application on internet environments. However, relatively little researches have been performed for building identity of information design so far and moreover in some cases. Therefore, as one of discourses in information design, this study investigated what types information design are and how to classify levels of information design. As a result, 4 types of information design are suggested; 'information design as structured data set', 'information design as representation of situation, sequence, stream and structure', 'information design for operating of control system' and 'information design for handling communication.' Also, information design level has been approached by two perspectivies of designer and user and the results were 'access structure', 'interest structure' and 'transaction structure' at designer's viewpoint and 'way finding', 'sense-making' and 'knowledge building' at user's one. Future research, based on the results of the study, is expected to discuss accessing methods of information design in accord with cooperation of designer and user.
