초록
본 연구에서는 사례분석을 통해 기업에서 조직통제를 위한 도구로서 활용되고 있는 정보기술 애플리케이션의 도입이 어떠한 요소에 의해 유도되고 있는가를 파악하고자 하였다. 또한, 사례분석을 통해 도출한 시사점을 토대로 향후 관련 연구들에서 적용해 볼 수 있는 연구명제를 제시하고자 하였다. 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여, 본 연구에서는 기업의 발전과정에서 발생할 수 있는 다양한 유형의 문제들을 통제위기로서 개념화하여 정의하였으며, 이를 토대로 국내의 자동차 제조업체를 대상으로 종단적 사례분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구에서는 사례분석을 통해 조직이 성장함에 따라 기업내 업무활동의 운영 및 전개과정에서 발생하는 통제위기의 유형이 계속적으로 변화하고 있으며, 이러한 통제위기 유형의 변화는 기업이 점진적으로 긍정적인 방향으로 발전하는 과정에서 업무활동의 특성이 변화하는데 기인하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 또한, 기업의 업무활동의 특성 변화에 따라 발생하는 상이한 유형의 통제위기는 결국 사례기업으로 하여금 새로운 유형의 정보기술 애플리케이션의 도입을 유도하고 있음을 알 수 있었다.
Abstract
This study is to investigate what types of problem drive the introduction of information technology and how these are changed in organizational growth. This study is also to suggest a few of research propositions that can be applied for empirical studies which deal with the driving forces for introduction of information technologies in the future.To accomplish these research purposes, this study defined the types of control crisis consisted of the characteristics of task processing and the degree of task interdependence based on the interviews with IS staffs of a domestic car manufacturing firm. And then, this study performed the longitudinal case study to analyze the control crisis in organizational growth.
