비즈니스 상황의 윤리적 판단에 관한 남녀비교 실증연구

본 연구에서는 남녀가 동일한 비즈니스 딜레마 상황에 처했을 때 윤리적 판단의 기준과 수준에서 성차가 존재하는지 살펴보고, 아울러 윤리적 판단이 업무성과에 영향을 미치는지에 대해 분석해 보고자 하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 윤리적 판단의 기준과 수준에 있어 남녀 차이가 존재하는 것으로 나타났다. 우선 윤리적 판단의 기준에 있어 남성은 주로 규범적 관점을, 여성은 주로 배려적 관점을 사용하는 것으로 분석되었다. 또한 윤리적 판단의 수준에서는 전반적으로 여성이 남성보다 윤리적 판단 수준이 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 윤리적 판단에서 성별과 연령이 상호작용을 하는 것으로 분석되었다. 여성의 경우 전 연령층에 걸쳐 윤리적 판단 수준이 고르게 높게 나타나 연령 증가로 인한 윤리적 판단 수준에 차이가 없었다. 반면 남성의 경우 연령이 증가함에 따라 윤리적 판단 수준이 큰 폭으로 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 윤리적 판단수준이 높을수록 업무성과가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 이러한 연구결과가 갖는 함의와 이 연구의 한계점에 대해 논의하였다
Abstract
This study explored sex differences in the moral reasoning and the level of ethical judgements in business setting. In addition, it was analyzed the relationship between the degree of ethical judgement and job performance. The sample for this study consisted of 204 salespeople.The results can be summarized as follows. First, there were significant sex differences in the moral reasoning of ethical judgement. Males tended to use the justice orientation while females the caring orientation. But the difference was observed only under the 'relational' context. Second, females scored higher than males in the level of ethical judgement. In addition, interaction effects between sex and age on the level of ethical judgement was found. Females maintained similar levels of ethical judgement at all age while the level for males increased sharply with age, which leads to decreases in sex differences. Third, the level of ethical judgement showed positive effects on job performance of sales personnel. Finally, the study discussed managerial implications and limitations of the research and suggested several directions for future research.
