원격대학의 현황과 법적 과제 - 평생교육법에서 고등교육법으로 이관하는 것을 중심으로 -

Cyber university is an education form of the 21st century, a combination of university and lifelong education. As mentioned above, Korea has been operating cyber university since several time ago, showing great interest in it. However, its result until now is not satisfactory when it comes to systematic operation. This is a very unsatisfactory result considering that Korea is getting close to the leading country of information-technology through construction of social infra. In order to improve this problem, there can be many solutions including enactment of laws and institutional devices. Improvement and additional constructions of social infra are also needed. The 21st century will enter the ubiquitous world beyond people's imagination and education is not an exception. Development of technology, which leads to a great leap in the information communication network, makes people anticipate that remote education will be applied to general aspect. And this makes the enactment of laws and institutional devices necessary to activate and improve cyber universities. Therefore, the government should make an effort in realizing these solutions. In addition, it should also develop and expand education contents.
