호텔 이용 상황과 인구통계학적 특성간의 관계를 이용한 동질성분석에 관한 연구

본 연구는 결과를 시각적으로 파악 할 수 있는 동질성분석을 이용하여 호텔이용자들의 이용 목적에 따른 이용상황과 인구통계학적 특성과의 관계를 조사한 선구자적인 연구이다. 동질성분석은 이산형변수들과 각변수의 카테고리들을 적절한 공간상에 표현하며, 같은 카테고리에 속한 대상들이 도표 상에 가까이 위치하고 다른 카테고리에 속한 대상들과는 멀리 떨어지도록 한다. 본 연구에서는 호텔 고객의 이용상황의 카테고리와 인구통계학적 특성의 카테고리간의 득점과 위치를 이용하여, 각 카테고리간의 관계를 조사하고, 대상점수에 의하여 도시화 되는 호텔 고객들을 세분화하여 그 세분화된 고객들의 특징을 살펴보았다.본 연구의 조사대상자는 일본에서 호텔을 이용한 경험이 있는 대학 졸업생 383명이며, 2002년 3월에 조사를 실시하였다. 인구통계학적 특성의 카테고리를 도식화하니, 호텔의 이용목적에는 관계없이, 차원 1에는 연령, 혼인상황, 직업, 수입이 관련성이 있는 변수로 나타났고, 차원 2에는 이용부문, 이용업태가 관련성이 있는 변수로 나타났다. 호텔의 이용 상황과 인구 통계학적 특성의 카테고리를 수량화한 대상점수를 이용하여 조사대상자들은 4가지의 그룹으로 분류되었고, 각 그룹의 특징을 살펴 볼 수 있었다. 카테고리 테이터를 취급한 본 연구이후, 후속적으로 발전된 연구 등이 실시되어 향후 관광학연구의 카테고리 데이터의 취급/연구 방법론과 활용 등에 도움이 되기를 기대한다.
Abstract
This is an elementary research study which used a homogeneity analysis (HOMALS). The homogeneity analysis gives scores to individuals and categories in such a way that the score of an individual is as similar as possible to the score of the category associated with that individual. The homogeneity analysis shows that significantly differentiated characterized are found between hotel usage and customer demographics characteristics. The data were collected from member of a university alumni association at March 2002 in Japan. 383 of sample were analyzed.It is not related whether usage purpose, "age", "marital status", "occupation", "income", were shown to be a relatively items of dimension 1, and "usage department of hotel", "usage type of hotel" were shown to be a relatively items of dimension 2. Moreover, the marketing strategy in a hotel was suggested from the mapping and object score of the multiplex category. This research may then provide a guide for further examination of the relationship between hotel usage and customer demographic characteristics.
