기업의 대학교육에 대한 인식과 요구 분석

초록
한국의 국가경쟁력 순위는 외형적 경제규모에 비해 낮은 편으로 나타나며 그 주요원인 중 하나로 고등교육의 경쟁력 미흡이 지적되고 있다. 본 연구는 기업현장의 목소리를 통해 이러한 현상의 원인을 다각도로 분석함으로써 문제해결 방안을 탐색한 것이다. 이에 기업의 경영진 및 인사․연수담당자를 대상으로 사전 설문조사와 심층면담을 실시하여 기업이 요구하는 인력의 특성과 인적자원을 육성하는 대학교육에 대한 만족도, 교육 체제 전반에 대한 인식도, 정부차원의 산학협력 정책 및 제도에 대한 인지도와 관심도를 분석하였다. 조사결과, 기업들은 대학교육의 효과성에 대해서 전반적으로 부정적인 반응을 나타내었다. 또한 각 기업의 환경에 따라 인재에 대한 요구의 차이가 존재하지만, 대체로 기업의 경영진 및 인사․연수담당자들은 인재선발 시 인성적인 부분을 중시하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과는 효과적인 산학협력 통로를 구축해야 하며, 핵심 직업기초능력의 주기적 탐구와 이의 인력양성과 재교육과정에의 반영 기제를 강구하여야 한다는 점을 시사한다. 또한 기업에서 필요로 하는 인재를 육성하기 위해서 대학에서의 진로․직업교육을 활성화시키고, 고등교육의 세계적 변화 전망과 한국의 대학교육 전통이 만나는 접점에서 새로운 형태의 고등교육체제에 적절히 대응하고, 이를 선도할 수 있도록 새로운 실험과 시도를 지원하고 격려해야 한다. 더불어 정부정책의 신뢰성과 정부의 대학 교육정책 효율성을 제고해야 한다.
Abstract
Korea's national competitiveness is ranked low considering the size of its economy and this problem is usually attributed to the shortcomings of the higher education system. In this research, we listen to the voice of companies, analyze the causes behind this problem by looking from various dimensions and search for ways to solve it. Also, this study involves in-depth interviews and surveys of CEOs and HR (HRM & HRD) managers of corporations to investigate company needs in terms of specific attributes they demand in securing manpower, degree of satisfaction with university education in fostering such manpower, overall perception of the education system, and the level of awareness and concern about government policies and systems. The results show that companies hold negative views about the effectiveness of university education. Despite differences in manpower demands among companies, CEOs and HR managers generally acknowledge the importance of human nature in recruiting workers. In accommodating both global changes and the tradition of Korean university education, we should support and encourage new experiments and attempts at building new forms of higher education system. Also, it is important to build greater confidence in government policies and improve the efficiency of university education policies.
